MY LIFE AND EASTER HOLIDAYS

Hello everybody,

After a while without posting, I’m back to do it again. This experience has been wonderful and like everything, it has its lights and shadows, not all that glitters is gold and when I came back from my holidays and saw the situation here, I decided to change my mentality and give even more of myself to show that not everyone’s the same and that nothing can stop me.

When I came back from my holidays in Valencia in March, I decided to organise myself to start seeing Italy and Europe, something I hadn’t done before in order to save money to go back to Spain. Since then I have been looking to go to a lot of places where I have acquaintances but I have to organise myself better because I don’t have so many days off …. hahahahahah but everything will come. At the moment I have visited CESENA and IMOLA, 2 cities near Faenza, small but cosy, with a spectacular old town and a tradition for “EL MERCAO” that drives me crazy and brings back very good memories of my childhood in Murcia. I also tell you, is to go to any city, see an ice cream rlour and have to try the weirdest flavours you can find at that moment because they are right, IN ITALY ARE THE BEST ICE CREAMS IN THE WORLD.

I also have a few trips already organised for May and June like FIRENZE, the weekend of 20-21 May, as some friends from the university are coming to celebrate my birthday here that weekend; from 2-6 June I’m going to MUNICH to visit some friends and from 17-19 June to MILANO to see a friend of mine perform.

Although I am also looking forward to return to SPAIN a couple of times this summer, return to HOLLAND and discover ROMANIA, GREECE and important cities in ITALY, such as ROME, VENICE, TORINO, VERONA, BARI…. but nothing is sure yet, I have to wait for the offers of the low cost airlines….jajajajaja

Regarding the personal project that we have to carry out here during the year, I would also like to talk to you about it. There are two types of personal project, one more focused on work life and CV and the other more passionate and you do it for pleasure. That’s why I decided to combine the two. HOW? you may ask, because my passion is also my future, I decided to make it about art and painting in general. I’m working on the concept of urban art and murals as collaborative projects in schools, but I’m also getting in touch with organisations and urban art festivals in the area. All on the same theme, life in Faenza: its people, traditions, culture, ceramics, etc… all from the point of view of a foreigner like me.

To make the most of my time, this is not the only thing I would like to devote my personal project to, as we can do more than one during the year. For this reason, I would like to paint pictures on my own, at home, quietly, on the same theme, so that I can get more into it, and capture details of everyday life here. With these paintings I would like to hold exhibitions around the city, but it’s still too early to talk about that, to be honest. Time and destiny will tell what they have in store for me… although I hope for good things.

To start with the personal project I’m already talking to DISTRETTO A, an organisation in Faenza that organises cultural events the last weekend of May such as a travelling dinner, workshops, talks, etc. …. I got in touch with them to help with whatever is needed and they proposed me to do a workshop on urban art during the festival, now I have a lot of ideas and I have to organise them well and decide what I want and can do, to whom it is addressed, materials, presentation…..etc.

During the Easter holidays I decided to stay in Faenza because the flights to see my family were too expensive and I couldn’t afford them. For many of you it may seem like a boring holiday but I had a great time these days. On Friday the 15th we went to our first party in FAENZA, but well… It was great but where there is a party like in Spain or like in La Falla, all the rest can go. There were a lot of people and a lot of atmosphere but it was very noticeable the difference in the way people danced to what I’m used to, but in general it was very good. On Saturday we didn’t do anything interesting but on Sunday we decided to go to RIMINI, a beach town 45 mins from Faenza. It was like coming back home, the beach, the wind, the smell of the sea, the sound of the waves…. I felt like in La Malvarrosa, or rather like in Torrevieja, Cullera or Sitges, because it is a very touristic and international city. On Monday we went for a walk along the river bank of Faenza and saw the nature. Everything was perfect thanks to the company and the people I surround myself with here (I’ll tell you about them another time).

I think I’ll end this week’s post here, see you in a couple of weeks with a new post about my experience at the E.ART.H. Youth Exchange.

I hope you liked it.
