I’ve already written some easy Italian recipes but now I want to help you discover the amazing Spanish cuisine. I’ve been living with a Spanish girl for 8 months now, so I think I’ve already learnt some things about Spain and its cuisine. Are you curious to learn about some Spanish dishes?💃🇪🇸
Today we will start with one of the most famous Spanish dishes loved all over the world: I’m speaking about Tortilla de patatas, a delicious Spanish omelette 😋
Ingredients for one tortilla de patatas:
- 4 medium sized eggs
- 2-3 medium sized potatoes
- Half an onion
- Chorizo or dry cured salami (optional)
First you have to remove the skin from the potatoes, cut them in slices and then put the potato slices in a bowl with water so they don’t oxidise. After that you have to chop the onion in tiny pieces and throw them into a pan with good quantity of oil. When the onions start to become golden, throw the potato slices into the pan. Cook them on medium heat. When you see that the potatoes are done, that means they are soft and golden, take the oil out, add salt and black pepper of your taste.
The next step is to crack the eggs into a bowl and whisk them. Then mix the potatoes and the onions in the same bowl and put the mixture into a pan. Let it cook on a medium heat for a few minutes and flip it with a dinner plate. Repeat this step a few times (more or less three times). This is the most difficult step so pay attention not to break your tortilla and not to burn yourself when you flip it.
You can also make a stuffed version with chorizo or dry cured salami, but also cheese or whatever you like depending on you preference. The combinations are endless 🍽️
